Nha Ho Research Institute for Cotton and Agriculture Development (Nhaho-RICOTAD) is a public agricultural research unit that has a long foundation history and development for nearly 80 years. In the process of establishment, construction and development, the Institute has undergone many changes in name and organization to carry-out well tasks, suitable with the development phase of agriculture in general and cotton branch in particular.
- Its former name was the Southern Central Agricultural Technical Center under the Ministry of Agriculture.
- On March 19, 1982, the Southern Central Agricultural Technical Center renamed in to Cotton Research Center.
- On April 14, 2001, Cotton Research Center renamed in to Research Institute for Cotton and Fiber Crops belong to Vietnam National Textile and Garment Corporation
- On December 14, 2006, its renamed in to the Nhaho-RICOTAD belong to Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group.
- From January 1, 2007, the Nhaho-RICOTAD has been transformed into a public science and technology organization themself own for expenses according to the Government's Decree No. 115/2005/ND-CP.
- From 03/7/2017, Nhaho-RICOTAD transferred to the Vietnam Academy of Aricultural Sciences (VAAS) - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
